Softball for a Reason      by Dr. Doug Talley

softball teamMost years over Labor Day weekend you can find me in Roanoke, Virginia, playing softball.  I've been doing this for more than 20 years.  I started going with the Westlake Community Church (where I was pastor) softball team because we were softball fanatics, and the Interstate Church of God Softball Tournament (www.interstatesoftball.com) was filled with challenging teams that we just knew we could beat.  We always had an incredible time, and the guys and fans who went always enjoyed being with each other and meeting players from other churches.

Over the years players went with us who weren't a Christian, and many of them found Christ at the weekend ballplayers service.  God gradually got through to us and helped us realize the annual trip was about more than softball.                  continue reading

Pastors' Wives Shopping Trip to Chicago
October 22-23, 2010

Do you like to hang out with other pastors' wives? Do you need to do some Christmas shopping? Do you just need to get away with the girls for a couple of days? If your answer to any of the above questions is a "yes", we have a solution...an overnight shopping trip on October 22nd  - 23rd to a place with great food and great shopping - Chicago!
