Indiana Ministries Update

May 3, 2010 - Vol 2, Issue 9

Making a Difference      by Dr. Doug Talley
Doug During the last few weeks I've connected with David Ravell, a church planter for the Church of God in Australia who is a graduate of Mid-America Christian University.  Several years ago David was sent by the Church of God in Australia to New Zealand to plant a church.  To simplify a complicated story, when he returned to Australia after successfully planting the church, the Church of God in Australia was in chaos and basically disappeared.  End result was that we did not have any Church of God congregations in the entire country.

David loves the Church of God.  He believes in our message.  So he responded to God's call to plant a new congregation just south of Brisbane with the dream that this congregation would plant other Church of God congregations and restart the Church of God.  That is a big dream - A BHAG.  A huge dream! Apparently David thinks God wasn't kidding when he gave the words of Ephesians 3:2 to Paul:  "God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!  He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us" (TM).
