The Main Thing, Part 4: Leadership & Ministry by Dr. Doug Talley
|
In the last issue I challenged pastors to think of their
role as doing leadership rather than doing ministry. At the conclusion of the article, I said that
in this issue I would talk about why pastors tend to default to doing the ministry
(rather than preparing people in the church to do it) and identify how doing
leadership differs from doing ministry.
As I talk to pastors about the equipping/preparing for
ministry paradigm in Ephesians 4:11-13, the question that naturally comes up
is, "If we as pastors are called to prepare
people to do the ministry, then why do we end up doing most of it?" Here are some reasons why. Read the rest of this article.

"Best Practices for Pastoral & Congregational Financial Health" Conference Sponsored by Lilly Endowment and Indiana Ministries
Testimony from one participant:
"Just wanted to drop you a note again to say thank for the student
loan assistance. It was sure a great blessing in our life to see the $1,000
applied to my student loan. I have a daughter who is getting married this
summer and with my March student loan money that I would normally apply to my
loan I used to pay off my daughters wedding dress. What a blessing for our
entire family!
God bless you and your team as you continue to bless the Pastor's
of Indiana!"
