Goals for 2010, Part II by Doug Talley
Set Goals
In the last e-newsletter I talked about setting goals and challenged each of you to develop a master calendar (guidelines for managing your schedule).  If you missed the edition, check your trash or email Mimi and ask her to resend it.  I hear pastors talk all the time about feeling like they are running around like a chicken with their head cut off.  Developing a master calendar will help minimize that pace.... if you follow it.

Let's talk some more about goals in this edition.  Goals are simply an end result that you believe God wants accomplished.  Goals help you manage your time, energy, and priorities so that you can achieve what you believe God wants you to achieve.  If you aren't sure what to accomplish, goal setting can help you determine that when done within the context of prayer.  Goals help protect us from being reactionary and spending all our time putting out fires.  (If we accomplish some of our goals, we'd probably have less fires.)
