Recession Proof Your Gift Giving

I would like to share with you some creative ideas for giving this year.  Many people are not in a position to give holiday gifts as they have in the past.  So, let's look at how you can stay within a budget or not spend very much money for the holidays and still give gifts.

No matter what your financial situation, giving in a different way this year can make a difference in your life and someone else's life.

Each day you will receive a creative gift idea with a quote, enjoy.
If you have any ideas you would like to share please feel free to send them to

DAY 3

Shopping for bargains can be fun.  Being creative with gift can be fun as well, gift basket are quick and easy.  To find items for your baskets you can visit K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Dollar Store, Michaels, and I know some of you out there are avid Garage Sales shoppers.  One can find many treasures at Garage Sales as well as Flea Markets.  Try it you might just enjoy it.

I know when my community has a garage sale those committed buyers are waiting eagerly way before I even open the door.  They come charging in to make sure they are the first to get the bargains. Trust me you can find some gems when your treasure hunting.

  • Basket for Her:  Bubble Bath, Waterless Hand Sanitizer, Towelettes, Candles, Rainbow Bath Oils, and Chocolates Bon Bon's for those chocolate lovers.
  •  Basket for Him:  After Shave, Sports Cream Rub, Shaving Soap, Antiperspirant Spray, and his favorite book.

Stretch wrap your basket with plastic just like the stores.  Michaels and stores that carry arts and crafts products have special wraping paper and a heating element to stretch the paper or you can use your own hair dryer. Tie ribbon or add a bow and you have a very nice gift for that special someone.
