As you know, these days, news stories and features about romantic relationships are no longer reserved for Valentine's Day. Whether it's reporting on a celebrity breakup or simply reaching out with advice and support for readers, romance is on the rise as a hot topic in the media.

I can't think of a better demonstration of this fact than the Oprah show to be broadcast this April 29th when Oprah will be screening her 17th interview with Dr. Harville Hendrix, who co-founded Imago Relationships International with his wife, Dr Helen LaKelly Hunt.  Dr. Hendrix is the author of many best-selling books on relationships, including the best-seller "Getting the Love You Want." 

When Harville Hendrix was featured on the Oprah show in 2006, one of my Imago colleagues, Jill Fein Baker, was able to attend the live filming of the show, and this is what she said about her experience.

"I had the privilege of being in the audience when Harville Hendrix recently taped a show on Oprah to be aired on April 20^th, 2006.  I really think it was one of his best Oprah appearances ever!  He was brilliant and understandable as well as relaxed and in touch.  He worked with a couple where the man was abusive - a big, burly, tough guy who was brought to tears of self- and other-compassion.  They beautifully edited some of the many hours that Harville spent with the couple, plus had the couple on stage with Harville and Oprah.  Oprah was highly enthusiastic and supportive about Imago and Harville.  All in all it was a terrific example of the power of Imago therapy."

In the show this April, Harville Hendrix will be working with a couple already featured on the April 15^th show, whose 6 year old daughter was affected by the marital discord.  Oprah called in Dr. Hendrix to help with this challenging case - and you can hear from the couple on the show about how much this helped them.
