CONSCIOUS EATING WORKSHOP
Sunday, April 26, 2009
12:30 to 2:00 pm
Love Offering - $15 Suggested
Mindfully eating is a spiritual practice that's easy to integrate into your daily life, building awareness to the power of NOW.
We will begin with an introduction to the concept of mindfulness and how it applies to food, including when making choices about what foods we buy. We will then dicuss how our bodies metabolize the food we eat, based on our state of mind. We'll introduce the idea of eating for pleasure and energy.
We'll have a 30-minute guided meditation, creating a conscious eating experience - getting settled in a quiet room where participants will be comfortable -and set the stage for simplicity, focus, and acceptance.
Bring creative stimulations to your taste buds. You might consider bringing water, tea, a few tasty (or neutral) snacks, nuts or even a simple meal.
This is experiential, so we simply need to bring (all of) ourselves with willingness and a gentle, matter-0f-fact attitude. Notebook and pen are optional.
We'll finish with sharing, discussion, and questions and answers from the group. That's really where the enlightenment is, and it's easier with the fellowship of other like-minded people.
Be a part of a spiritual community that provides tools to transform your personal life!
Facilitated by Jessica Fish, RScP
