Surgical Services Steering Committee |
|
The Surgical Services Steering Committee (SSSC) is comprised of members of the medical staff, executive team and surgical services management. The purpose of the SSSC is to improve the overall quality in the surgical services arena. Efficiency and throughput in the Main Operating Room are always on the forefront of our quality goals. The operating room staff members have made efforts to improve on-time surgical starts by dedicating resources and increasing efficiencies. We decided to monitor our on time start for the 0730 cases on an ongoing basis. Starting the first cases of the day on time can set the stage for the entire day. In November of 2011, we started documenting the arrival time of the surgeons and the anesthesiologists. At that time our 0730 start rate was at 61%. As of May 2012, our on time start rate is at 78%. We would like to thank the physicians for making efforts to be on time for surgeries and for improving our goals of starting the first procedures of the day on time
