Position Available - Physician Informatics Advisor
Position Purpose:
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Physician Informatics Advisor shall provide quality, leadership, and education as defined and required by Hospital. Physician Advisor shall establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the medical, nursing and administrative staffs, which includes joint planning, problem identification and problem resolution.
Provide leadership with input into the development of physician documentation improvements, clinical guidelines, and clinical alerts.
Develop expertise in knowledge of Cerner and assists with future plans for development.
Provides professional guidance as necessary to assure clinical standards and professional practice standards.
Serve as a key communication link and leader with the Medical Executive Committee and Medical Staff for obtaining their input regarding Cerner order sets, EMR documentation and work flow processes.
Works collaboratively with the Medical Executive Committee and medical staff to assist with the adoption of the EMR system.
Participate in the Evidence based Medical Council for Sharp Healthcare representing the individual hospital practice.
Attend and participate in meetings concerning the EMR. In addition to formal meetings members may be asked to participate in training and teaching activities involving physician use of the EMR.
Members will also be asked to participate in various EMR project meetings. Participation might include evaluation, testing and/or implementation activities. In rare instances travel for site visit might be involved.
Provide support to the Medical Staff to meet educational and training needs related to the EMR and Cerner system.
Contribute to the development of educational materials and curriculum for physicians, nurses and support personnel as it relates to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Professional Qualifications
Education: M.D. or D.O. Degree
License/Certification:
Certification in area of specialty.
Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Previous clinical, technical and leadership skills necessary for fulfillment of the position of Physician Informatics Advisor. Leadership, vision, communication and educational/presentation skills are required.
Total Hours Per Month (Including Meetings) - 8 - 12/Position Will Include Stipend

MRSA Attestation Order
Effective 6/19/2012, a new Cerner MRSA Attestation order replaced the existing chart stamp.
New electronic MRSA Attestation order:
"I have informed the patient/patient's representative of the positive MRSA test result and directed the patient/patient's representative be given oral and written instructions on how to prevent transmission of MRSA to others."
The order will automatically be sent to the Admitting / Attending MD's Message Center for electronic signature for each first time positive MRSA culture result.
