  • Please do not "text" orders!
  • In this modern "techy" world the temptation to "text" is great, but please resist - do not "text" orders. Current standards will not allow for texted orders since origin of the message and the identity of the sender cannot be verified, the order is not saved into the chart, etc.

  • Hikers - Put on your boots!
  • Take a hike on Sunday, February 12 at 9 am at Santee Lakes!

What better place to go hiking than San Diego County! Over the past two years since the Happiness Committee had its beginning via the efforts of Dr. Mike Musicant, we have had several hikes to such places as Torrey Pines National Park, Mission Trails, and Horsethief Canyon near Alpine. For those who might like to hike on a regular basis, you are invited to join the Hiking Club. You can receive reminders and also have an opportunity to suggest hiking locales. Please call Lesley Bradley at 619-740-4145 to be added to the mailing list. Children of all ages are welcome.

  • Calling all "Stars"
  • The SGH Medical Staff Happiness Committee is already planning its Concert under the Stars for June. This is your chance for the spotlight! If you sing or play an instrument, why not take the leap and join the cast? Please call Lesley Bradley at 619-740-4145 or email her at lesley.bradley@sharp.com to have your name added to the program!

  • Bookclub's Choice
  • The SGH Medical Staff Bookclub is reading "At Home: A Short History of Private Life" by Bill Bryson.

Club Chair Dr. Robert Bullock notes, " 'Houses aren't refuges from history. They are where history ends up.' The bathroom provides the occasion for the history of hygiene, a peek into the bedroom reveals nutty sex nostrums and the horrors of pre-modern surgery. This book is full of fascinating history and hilarious anecdotes. Bill Bryson may be most famous for 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' which I read some years ago and plan to read again, just to brush up on the basics of science."

The next meeting is Wednesday, February 8, at 5:30 pm in the Doctors' Lounge. All new members are very welcome!
