Documentation Reminder!

Required physician-related elements to comply with the Heart Failure Core Measure include the following:

· Dictated discharge summary medication list must match the patient's discharge medication list

· Documentation of LV assessment

· Documentation of reason, if patient is not on an ACE or ARB.

SGH Foundation Gala

Please join us for the Encore "Dancing with our Stars" 26th Annual Grossmont Hospital Foundation Gala to be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. This year's Dancers will include: Peter Hanson, M.D., Colleen Murphy, CEO of La Mesa Chamber of Commerce Mary England and KUSI-TV Weathercaster Dave Scott.

What began in 1986 as a Fall Round-Up at the Donald and Toni Daley's East County Ranch, has evolved into the community's biggest celebration in support of Sharp Grossmont Hospital. More than 500 physicians, prominent community and business leaders, current and potential donors and corporate sponsors enjoy an evening of live and silent auctions, dining, entertainment and dancing in support of East County's only not-for-profit hospital. Complimentary Admission to Heart and Vascular Conference 2011

The Heart and Vascular Center at Sharp Grossmont is making preparations for the Heart and Vascular Conference 2011 on November 5-6 at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad. Join your colleagues for this two-day event where you'll learn from experts in heart and vascular disease and gain information to enhance your skills and improve patient care. Conference topics include: evidence-based practice guidelines for screening and management of cardiac and vascular disease risk factors; clinical advances in treatment of aortic, carotid and lower extremity vascular disease; stroke prevention and management; new opportunities in minimally invasive cardiothoracic procedures; and much more.

Sharp HealthCare-affiliated physicians and employees receive complimentary admission. The registration fee is $125 for non Sharp-affiliated clinicians and includes presentations on a 2GB thumb drive, breakfast, snacks and parking. CME: 6.0 hours. Special discounted accomodations and spa services at La Costa are available, and golf can be booked at the award-winning course.

    Now is the time to start planning for the SGH Medical Staff Happiness Committeee tennis tournament. Drinks, snacks, trophies. The date is Wednesday, September 14. The place is Singing Hills. The time is 3 PM.

    It will be a doubles competition. May the best man or woman win!

    The cost is $10 and must be paid at least one week in advance so we can reserve the proper number of courts.
