  • Medical Executive Committee Summary
  • The following issues were addressed at the April 12 Medical Executive Committee meeting:

    • The SGH Medical Staff will donate $50,000 to the 2011 SGH Foundation Gala.
    • A medical necessity team related to surgical services has been implemented to assess all points in the processs to assure patients are appropriately identified as inpatient or outpatient.
    • The remodeling of 2-East is complete and patients have moved back to that unit.
    • 3-North and then ACC will be remodeled next.
    • Investigation into a program that would address the issues of physician stress, depression and suicide continues.

    Following the meeting, all members of the medical staff were surveyed to determine the interest in Up-to-Date medical literature/research software. The results of the survey will be presented at the next MEC meeting as the committee continues its discussion about whether to support the purchase of this software for the hospital.
