CURRENT DRUG SHORTAGES (SOME VERY CRITICAL)

AMINO ACIDS 10% still on back order and allocation by all manufacturers. Releasing as it becomes available. SGH has 3 cases on hand.

BUMETANIDE 4ML & 10ML Increase in demand due to Furosemide shortage; manufacturers continually releasing product as it becomes available. SGH has plenty available.

CALCIUM CHLORIDE Inj Unexpected increase in demand. Hospira continually releasing product. American Regent has product available. SGH has a good supply.

DOPAMINE DRIPS (CRITICAL) Hospira's product is on back order. Baxter cannot keep up with the demand due to the back order by Hospira. SGH currently has about 70 bags throughout Pyxis and has a large supply of vials on hand to be able to make drips. SGH has a back order in with Baxter so that when it is released, the product will be received.

ERYTHROMYCIN LACT. INJ 1gm vials discontinued by Hospira. Sporatic releases of the 500mg vials on back order to due manufacturing delays.

ETOPOSIDE INJ. Increase in demand. Bedford releasing all presentations as they become available. Teva's products are both on back order due to manufacturing delays.

FUROSEMIDE INJECTION (all sizes) Most manufacturers have products available, but still continuing to have periodic shortages. SGH has plenty in stock.

HALOPERIDOL DECANOATE INJ Shortage due to manufacturing delays. SGH has plenty available at this time.

INTRALIPID 20% INJECTION BAXTER product is only available through direct allocation. SGH currently has product and is placing monthly allocation orders.

METOCLOPRAMIDE INJ (CRITICAL) ALL manufacturers have product on back order. There are 500+ vials in Pyxis.

METHOCARBAMOL INJ (CRITICAL) has product on long term back order, they are expecting a release at the end of April. SGH has approximately 10 vials in Pyxis and 14 vials in the IV room.

MORPHINE 2MG/ML CARPUJECT ongoing shortages due to manufacturing delays. Hospira cannot keep up with the demand. Continually releasing product.

HYDROMORPHONE 1MG/ML CARPUJECTS ongoing shortages due to manufacturing delays. Hospira cannot keep up with the demand. Continually releasing product and SGH has been receiving ampules periodically to get through the shortages.

M.V.I. injection Adult Manufacturing delays to all adult formulations. SGH is ordering both Infuvite and MVI products as they are available.

NITROGLYCERIN DRIPS Both Hospira and Baxter having manufacturing delays and cannot keep up with the demand. Have back orders in place. There is no current release date.

NOREPINEPHRINE VIALS/AMPS (CRITICAL) TEVA discontinued their product. Bedford and Hospira are having manufacturing delays and are unable to keep up with the demand. Have direct back orders in with both manufacturers. No expected release date.

PROPOFOL BRAND & GENERIC May only be ordered direct as the lots are approved by the FDA as product is released. Have continual back orders with APP.

SODIUM CHLORIDE CONC 23.4% (CRITICAL) ALL SIZES - HOSPIRA on long term back order, expected release December 2011. American Regant & APP continually releasing product. Have back orders in with APP and Cardinal. SGH supply is very low.

SUCCINYLCHOLINE INJ Hospira & Sandoz continually releasing product. Currently available direct and thru Cardinal.

BACTRIM IV 5 & 10ml vials - long term back order due to recall and manufacturing delays. No expected release date.

TAMIFLU ORAL SUSP Increase in demand, SGH currently has one bottle on hand and plenty of supplies to compound if necessary.

GLYCOPYRROLATE INJ 2ML & 5ML VIALS (CRITICAL) Back ordered by all manufacturers, no expected release date. Have direct back orders in place with multiple manufacturers.
