A flu declination form has been added to the Medical Staff Sharpnet page. Physicians can complete this form instead of the written declination. Physicians who got the vaccine from the hospital roamer do not need to complete the form. Physicians who received the flu vaccine elsewhere at Sharp (not through the roamer) or at another healthcare facility need to complete the declination form stating they received it elsewhere.

• Printing Medication Lists - The system does not default to the nearest printer so the physician must scroll a long list of printers - unfortunately, this is a technical issue. One shortcut is to type the printer designation (rather than scrolling) and the system will automatically sort to that printer in the list. Often it will store that last printer in that computer.
• Listing of all Providers on the Case - In the Patient List, right click on the patient and then click Provider Information to see a list of all active relationships.

When admitting physicians come to the emergency department, they write ADMISSION ORDERS, but often forget to DC the ED holding orders. This causes duplicate orders and confusion for the ED nurses, the pharmacists and the unit nurses. And, of course, it is clearly a patient safety issue!

Please remember to DC the ED Holding Orders when entering your own admitting orders own orders.

• 177 members participate on multiple committees
• There are over 32 medical staff committees

Statistics indicate that many medical staffs are fortunate to have 10% of their staff participate in the peer review and leadership process. The percentage at SGH is closer to 33%!

In addition, there are countless hours of work done by individuals or groups for the betterment of their department and the benefit of the medical staff.
