  • Medical Executive Committee Update
  • The following issues were addressed by the Medical Executive Committee on Tuesday, July 13:

    • Drs. Kaveh Bagheri, George Fadda, and Eva Leonard were nominated to be MEC Members-at-Large for 2011 and 2012. The slate of nominees has been officially announced to the medical staff via e-mail. Instructions for those members who may want to add their name to the ballot were also provided (or are available in Medical Staff Services). The ballots will be mailed to the Active Staff on October 15.
    • Cerner training for MDs will begin in mid-August - watch for information about how to sign up for a class
    • The census has been high - often over 400. Administration is working aggressively to assure efficient admissions/discharges.
    • Sharp has launched a wellness program for employees/providers called Sharp Best Health. Watch for special events!
    • 3-East has reopened and the response to the renovations has been very positive.
    • 4-East is being renovated and the patients have been moved to 2-North and 3-South. 4-East will re-open in September.

    The conference will focus on the educational needs of physicians and health professionals interested in learning about the latest developments in the screening, diagnosis and optimal treatment of vascular disease. Leading experts in the field will present state-of-the-art practices in abdominal aorta, thoracic aorta, carotid, and lower extremity vascular disease - as well as new non-invasive diagnostic imaging options and vascular screening programs.
