  • The Move Back to 3-East
  • Patients, staff, and equipment will move back to 3-East, on Friday, 6/25. Patients will begin moving at 0900.

All previous phone numbers for 3-East will return, including the main number - ext. 4840.

  • Suggestions to improve your patients' experience!!!
  • -Please use care when telling family members about the patient's stay in PACU. It might not be wise to quote a specific timeframe (i.e. one hour) since a longer PACU stay could cause the family to become angry or concerned. Remember, PACU cannot transfer the patient during change of shift or the transfer may be delayed until a bed becomes available.

-Remember that the patient's family may be waiting in the lobby while the patient is having a procedure. It is their expectation that the physician will come and speak to them at the end of the procedure.

  • First Touch Quick Tips

  • The First Touch process ensures that your time with patients is meaningtul, increases satisfaction, and reduces patient anxiety.

    • With first-time patients, introduce yourself and get to know the patient before beginning the medical history.
    • After asking your patient a question, stop, listen and don't interrupt.
    • Stay away from jargon and words patients might not understand.
