Don't be naughty! - This is not new! The SGH Medical Staff has done very well in maintaining compliance with the Do Not Use Abbreviation list. Recently, however, there have been a few inappropriate abbreviations found in charts. So, this message is intended as a reminder.

OF SPECIAL NOTE: Some surgeons are putting PRBA in their progress notes for their informed consent (procedure, risks, benefits, alternatives). This is NOT an approved abbreviation.

The Sharp Healthcare System policy is attached. Please take a moment to open the policy and scan directly to the attachment - the list of Do Not Use Abbreviations. A quick review is always good!
