Remote Telemetry patients must meet Acute Care admission guidelines, which include monitoring of VS, neurological checks, I & O, and RBS no more frequently than every 4 hours. Examples of patients appropriate for Remote Telemetry are those who have documentation of the following as secondary conditions/diagnoses, and require cardiac monitoring: chronic atrial fibrillation, stable pacemaker, stable sinus tachycardia, post-operative with potential for respiratory depression, and hypertension requiring treatment within the Acute Care guidelines, as above. Patients requiring IV medications which require PCU or higher level of care will need to be transferred as indicated to receive needed treatment(s).

  • Pain Management
  • The Joint Commission requires that all medical staff receive ongoing information regarding pain management. Attached is the Sharp Healthcare policy entitled, "Patient Screening, Assessment and Management of Pain."
