The new and improved Romacc process for elective procedural patients was implemented on October 1.

The overall goal of the new process is to improve efficiency by eliminating the redundancy and duplication of rewriting post-procedural admission medication orders. This new process specifically targets elective patients (post-procedure) by using the opportunity to validate and verify the patient's pre- admission home medications, doses and frequencies.

This new process also allows the screening nurses to complete the order set electronically from the Sharp Intranet. Physicians need only to indicate "Continue" or "Stop" in the Post Procedure Admission Order section and sign, date and time the order.
