Effective January 1, there are two new
state
laws authorizing severe financial penalties for
breaches of patient confidentiality.
Please take this as a gentle reminder to
be cautious in verbalizing patient matters in public
areas, i.e. dictating or discussing patients' conditions
over cell phones and/or in
corridors, elevators, etc.
