  • Trouble Getting Medicare Reimbursement?

  • As you are likely already aware, thousands of California physicians have been experiencing Medicare payment problems which have exacerbated since the transition to Palmetto, the new Medicare intermediary.

The NPI transition, followed by the NHIC to Palmetto switch, have together created a nightmare of red tape, exhaustive waits, rejected claims, slow or no payments, and massive frustration.

CMA is addressing the underlying systemic issues with Palmetto, CMS, and Congress. FYI, at CMA's request, Senator Boxer sent a strongly worded letter to CMS asking them to fix the problems, quoted in it's entirety at the end of this NYCU.

SDCMS and CMA are working together to get our member Physicians paid.

If you are still experiencing payment problems, please review the issues list below first to see if your issue or issues are addressed there. If after doing so you still have questions or problems, please contact your SDCMS physician advocate, Marisol Gonzalez, at (858) 300-2783 or at MGonzalez@SDCMS.org.

If you are in extremis (as in you're at risk of shutting down your practice), contact me personally on my cell phone [(619) 206-8282] or e-mail me at Gehring@SDCMS.org.
