CMS Survey Update |
|
Over the past two days Sharp Grossmont
Hospital has undergone a CMS recertification survey
for the five Conditions of Participation for which it was
found out of compliance during the May 19-22, 2008
survey.
Those conditions were:
-Governing Board
-Patient Rights
-Quality Assurance and Performance
Improvement
-Nursing Service
-Physical Environment
Four surveyors (including 3 nurses and a physician)
interviewed 35 individuals and reviewed over 30
records. At the conclusion of the survey they reported
that they found no deficiencies.
The survey team will be forwarding the report to their
supervisors for evaluation before it is sent to CMS in
San Francisco. We anticipate it will be several weeks
before we receive an official report.
The survey team reported that it was very evident that
all of Sharp Grossmont Hospital had put great effort
into correcting the deficiencies found in the last
survey. This was truly a team effort.
It is very important that we stay focused on our plan of
correction and remain survey ready at all times.
Please continue to place a priority on:
-
signing, dating and timing verbal/telephone
orders - appropriate document of informed
consents - appropriate documentation of restraint
orders
Thank you for your dedication and
commitment to Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
