Daniel Hamilton of Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies writes about the strong economic ties between the EU and U.S. and how a reduction of existing barriers could bring about sustained economic growth. Hamilton also argues that a joining of the EU and the U.S. markets could generate significant benefits in growth, jobs, and consumer welfare on both sides of the Atlantic. AICGS would like to welcome its newest member of the Board of Trustees, The Honorable Wolfgang Ischinger, former German Ambassador to the United States and currently Global Head of Government Relations for Allianz SE. Ambassador Ischinger was recently appointed chairman of the Munich Conference on Security Policy and brings to the Board more than thirty years of transatlantic experience.
