AICGS' 25th Anniversary
During the week of June 2, AICGS held several events in Berlin on the occasion of the Institute's 25th anniversary. Highlighting the week were a symposium on the implications of the U.S. elections for the German-American relationship and a gala dinner celebrating the Institute's 25 years. Germany's Struggle with University Tuition Fees
While the current debate in Hesse was likely just a political stunt, Germany's growing debate about college tuition fees highlights the lack of funding to keep Germany's universities competitive, writes AICGS Senior Fellow Dr. Tim Stuchtey. In order for Germany to enter into the top level of international higher education, Dr. Stuchtey argues, more funding is necessary and tuition fees are a place to start.

Save the Date: 14th Annual Global Leadership Award Dinner - November 13, 2008
On November 13, 2008, AICGS will hold its fourteenth annual Global Leadership Award Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. At this year's gala, the Institute will celebrate its 25th Anniversary, and for the first time in its history, AICGS will honor two award recipients: Richard D. Parsons, Chairman of the Board of Time Warner Inc. and Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer AG. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Robert M.
