Donation Drive results

The PTSA is pleased to announce the Donation Drive brought in $11,780 in donations along with an additional  $4,558 in grants from Chevron/Donor's Choose and $750 from the Pleasant Hill Community Foundation. That's a grand total of $17,088 for the teachers and students at College Park! Mr. Gengler and the teachers have expressed their great appreciation for your generosity. Donations large and small helped us meet this amazing goal.

What's next? The cash donations will be divided among the departments on the wish list and the teachers will report their purchases. So stay tuned for these results as the purchases are being made.

Although our donation drive has "ended," donations are happily accepted at any time. Many people mentioned they like to donate in the Spring so we will let you know about additional donations that come in.

If you have any questions about the fundraiser or have not received your donation receipt by the end of January, please contact Karen Goldman at kagold@att.net.

County to vote on Clayton Valley charter next Wednesday
College Park parents are urged to attend the Contra Costa Office of Education's board meeting next Wednesday, January 11 at 5:30pm in the multi-use room at Pleasant Hill Elementary.  At this meeting, the board is expected to vote whether to approve or deny Clayton Valley High School's charter petition.

The charter, if approved, will have significant financial consequences for College Park and every other school in the district.  Parents are asked to become familiar with the issues and attend the meeting, as it is critically important that the board receive input from parents from across the district.

The charter petition was denied by the MDUSD board in November and then appealed to the Contra Costa Office of Education.

For more information, contact Matt Lovett or Mary Gray.
