News from the College & Career Center
Seniors:
There are new scholarships every week--check out the binder in the Career Center.

Today (Nov. 8) is the last day to sign up for the SAT on Dec. 3 (the late deadline is Nov. 20). The regular deadline for the ACT on Dec. 10 has already passed, but the late deadline is Nov. 18.

Don't procrastinate! Aim to have those UC/CSU apps submitted before Thanksgiving. Remember, this semester's classes are in progress, next semester's are planned, except for gov/econ. For CSU, for the semester you do not have the class, leave the drop down menu reading "select one." On the UC application, select NO for the semester you do not have each class. Treat Marine Bio/Zoology the same way. If you get stuck on a page, save what you can, skip and jump to the next section and come see Mrs. Welsh, bringing your user name and password with you. Do NOT submit an application if you are not sure it is perfect. It is much better to delay a day or two than to have to call every college to explain how you messed up and to ask them to fix it for you --not the best first impression you could make!

Attn: All CPHS parents (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
Volunteer to help with Grad Nite! Parent volunteers are needed to work Grad Nite and to help with the decorations committee.  Please visit our website at www.cpgradnite.homestead.com to learn of the various volunteer opportunities or to register to volunteer.

We especially encourage non-senior parents to volunteer to learn what goes into planning Grad Nite and be prepared to organize this event when their students are seniors. If your child is a freshman, sophomore, or junior it is not too early to get involved!

If you have any questions regarding Grad Nite, please contact Debbie Hunter at Debbie@rsh-mail.com or Dian Bechter at dbechter@comcast.net.
