Time is running out for proof of Tdap vaccine
| | If you have not submitted proof of your child's Tdap (whooping cough) vaccine to College Park High School, the deadline is September 29, 2011.
California state law requires that students in grades 7-12 have this vaccine to attend school. Students without proof of vaccine will not be allowed to attend school after September 29, 2011. Proof of vaccine can be turned in at the main office.

Back-to-School Night on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 6:30-8:30pm
| | Back to School Night is a chance for you to meet each teacher and get a glimpse of your child's schedule. Please meet from 6:30-6:45 in Hurtado Gym (the large gym) for introductions and a short welcome from principal Paul Gengler. At 7:00pm report to your child's period 1 class to meet the teacher. The classes will be in order from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Click here for a detailed schedule. Please bring a copy of your child's schedule with you that evening. You may obtain the schedule by doing one of the following:
- Print schedule from HomeLink by clicking here, logging in, selecting Student Info, then selecting Class Schedule.
- Have your child fill out the Back to School schedule form here and include classes, teachers, and room numbers.
- Have your students list the periods, classes, teachers, and room numbers of their schedules on paper (or they can text the info to you!)

Please note that many parents will be at Back to School Night and teachers will not have time to discuss individual students as each class period is only 10-12 minutes. If you'd like to meet with a teacher regarding your own child, please e-mail the teacher to discuss available times.

CSF meeting on Thurs., September 22
| | The first CSF meeting will be held on Thurs., September 22 at lunch in the library.
Are you a CSF member or would you like to be one? CSF (California Scholarship Federation) is a service/academic club whose membership is based on academic performance, citizenship and service. Students become members based on their high school grades. Therefore, first-semester freshman are not eligible, but may apply for membership second semester, based on the grades on their first high school report card.
College Park's chapter of CSF plans service activities throughout the year, and also raises money for its scholarship fund. The scholarship fund is used to award scholarships to seniors who are Sealbearers. Information about becoming a Sealbearer and the specifics of eligibility in general are included in the application. Renew your membership or find out how to join by clicking here or getting an application from the Main Office. The application contains all information you will need to determine if you qualify to become a member of CSF. Please read the instructions carefully to be sure you qualify! You will need to turn in:- Completed application
- Copy of your June 2011 report card or a transcript printed from HomeLink
- $5.00 in dues (checks made payable to CPHS)
Return the above three items to the Treasurer's Office (Ms. Jones) by Friday, September 30. No applications will be accepted after Friday, September 30! You will receive a confirmation e-mail once your application has been approved. If you do not qualify your application and its attachments will be returned to you.

The College Park junior class is having a fundraiser at Coco Swirl. Show your College Park ID at the counter and the Junior class will get 20% of the total sale.

Help spruce up College Park on Sat., Sept. 24 for Pleasant Hill Community Service Day
| | CPHS will once again be participating in Pleasant Hill's Annual Community Service Day. There are many school improvement projects slated to take place that day including work in our organic garden, baseball field andASB leadership projects.
It's an all-day event and parents/students are encouraged to come for the day or just for an hour or two.

Mt. Diablo Unified School District Student Services Office invites you to attend a presentation for parents
| | You are invited to attend a presentation by Victor DeNoble, Ph.D., and noted researcher on the biology of addiction. Dr. DeNoble will discuss the extreme addictiveness of nicotine and other drugs most often used by teens today.
The presentation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 7:00-8:30pm at the MDUSD Willow Creek Training Center (1036 Mohr Lane, Concord).

CSF-sponsored blood drive on Thurs., Sept. 29
| | The CSF/Red Cross blood drive will be held on Thursday, September 29. Parents, community members, and students ages 16 and older may donate. For students:- Sign up in the Student Store at lunch
- Students aged 16 must bring signed parental permission slip when they sign up
- Students 17 or older must bring a photo ID
For parents and community members:- Please check in at the Main Office when you come on campus.

Attention juniors & seniors who need to make up classes

Martinez Adult School is offering CPHS students limited spaces in their night school program. Registration is going on now for World History and English classes only.
Applications are available from Mrs. Shaw in SSS #4. You must contact Martinez as soon as possible for the orientation meeting which is on Thursday, Sept. 29.
Classes begin on Monday, Oct. 3 and run for 10 weeks. Hours are 3:30-6pm only. This is for remediating Fs only (no Ds).
