The SAT is offered October 1; November 5; and December 3. The ACT is offered September 10; October 22 and December 10. Register online at sat.collegeboard.org/register and actstudent.org.
Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch should bring their notification of eligibility letter to Mrs. Welsh to receive a fee waiver for the test(s).

PSAT news (10th & 11th grades)
| | The Preliminary SAT is a test offered only in October of each year. It is designed to help students prepare for the SAT and is also the gateway to the National Merit competition. Juniors are strongly encouraged to take the PSAT.
The results become available in December and provide good feedback on each student's strengths and weaknesses. The students get their own test booklets back (complete with scratch work) along with a score sheet which tells them the correct answer for each question, what answer they chose, the level of difficulty of the question and the skill the question was designed to test.
Sophomores and freshmen are permitted to take the test for the experience but should be aware that they may not have covered all the math. PSAT scores do NOT go to colleges. The test results come only to the Career Center and are handed back with an explanation to help the students understand their scores.
Juniors who do exceptionally well in the PSAT are evaluated for the National Merit Competition. Any level of recognition in this competition is a powerful award to put on a college application. At the highest level students typically receive merit scholarships, some of which can be extremely generous.
The test will be held at College Park on Sat., October 15. Registration costs $22 and is through the College Park Webstore. Students who have a school-related commitment on Oct. 15 may sign up with Mrs. Welsh in the Career Center to take the test on the morning of Wed., Oct. 12 at the Willow Creek Center. It is not possible to register for the Wednesday test through the Web store. Seats are limited for the Wednesday test, so see Mrs Welsh as soon as possible.
