Greetings!

We hope you are having a good summer. It's almost time to head back to school. The first day of school is Monday, August 27. Below are some resources, documents, and items of note we wanted to share with you to help you get ready for the 2012-13 school year. Please share this update with others in the community who may not be signed up to receive the MISD Messenger emails for important information from Mansfield ISD.

High School 1:1 iPad Initiative
At the May 22 Board Meeting, Trustees approved the purchase of iPads for all high school professional staff and students. The MISD Strategic Plan calls for the use of "innovative and inspiring teaching methods." An important step toward creating 21st Century learning environments will take place in the fall. Over 10,000 iPads will be deployed to Mansfield ISD high school teachers and students. Fanfest 2012
The MISD Athletics Department held the 6th Annual Fan Fest on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Vernon Newsom Stadium. (See the photo gallery.
Fanfest is an annual free kick-off event at Newsom Stadium. It features the District's high school varsity football teams, drumlines, cheerleaders, and drill teams. Community members were invited to choose their seats, purchase football season tickets, meet the football players and coaches on the field while enjoying an evening in a pep rally-like atmosphere
New Start & End Times for 2012-13

Mansfield ISD moved to an eight-period day at the secondary level (for high school, middle school, intermediate school). To accommodate the new schedule, start and end times for the 2012-13 school year are new.

 

Elementary Schools: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Intermediate Schools: 8:30 AM - 3:55 PM
Middle Schools: 8:45 AM - 4:10 PM
High Schools: MHS, LRHS, LHS, SHS, and THS 7:25 AM - 2:55 PM; BBCTA/FHS 7:00 AM - 2:40 PM

 

Skyward Family Access coming soon

Skyward Family Access is a web-based service that allows parents/ guardians to view school-related information on their students and help answer the question, "What did you do in school today?" Information available online will include:

  • General student demographic information
  • Assignment and term grades as released by the teacher
  • Attendance entries
  • Current and missing assignments in a custom calendar
  • Schedule information
  • Immunization records
Please Note: Skyward Family Access replaces the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
