2012-13 Calendar Survey

The Mansfield ISD Districtwide Educational Improvement Committee, made up of staff, parents and community members, recently selected two options as finalists for the 2012-13 MISD School Year Calendar.

We are seeking input through a survey to assist in determining which option will be best for our staff, students and school community. Please take a moment to review the options and submit your preference. The survey will run through Wednesday, January 4.

Eight-Period Schedule Update

A final decision on the proposed eight-period schedule for 2012-13 will be made by the administration after the Winter Break.

Visit the Mansfield ISD blog for more information on the proposed schedule.

Intermediate/Middle School Schedule

Attention Intermediate and Middle School families: Beginning with the first day of the second semester (Tuesday, January 17, 2012), we will stop using the hybrid schedule. The classes students now attend on Monday, Tuesday and Friday will also be attended on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students will attend all of their classes on each day of the week.

School starting times and ending times will not change and will remain the same for the remainder of the school year.

Also on January 17, 2012, we will start abiding by the following homework/test schedule:
  • Even calendar dates of the week: homework is due or tests may be scheduled for Science, English, or Elective classes.
  • Odd calendar dates of the week: homework is due or tests may be scheduled for Math or Social Studies.

If you have any questions, please contact your school office.

(A copy of this letter also went home with each Intermediate and Middle School student on Thursday, December 15.)
