2011-12 School Calendar Approved

Calendar Approved The Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2011-2012 school district calendar at the January 25 Regular Board Meeting.

Thank you to all in the MISD community who assisted in the process and participated in the Calendar survey.

Two calendar options were developed and shared through an on-line calendar preference survey that ran December 13, 2010, through January 7, 2011.

The anonymous survey allowed students, staff, parents and community members to indicate which of two calendar options they felt would be best for our staff, students and school community.

A total of 5,503 individuals responded to the survey:

  • Parents favored Calendar Option A - 1,727 to 672.
  • Students favored Calendar Option A - 616 to 94.
  • Staff favored Calendar Option A - 1,959 to 311.
  • Community Members favored Calendar Option A - 107 to 17.

Winter Weather Update

Schools
Weather UpdatesWe are monitoring the weather this week and will provide information if any changes to the schedule become necessary.

The closing of schools due to inclement weather is the decision of the district administration. The decision to cancel school will be made as early as possible and the media outlets listed on the Weather page will be notified. They, in turn, will announce the closure. Please do NOT call school offices or teachers for such information.

Weather and road conditions can vary greatly from area to area. As a result, you, as parents, are the final decision makers regarding your son/daughter's attendance. Please notify the school office if your son/daughter will not be in school or should be dismissed early due to weather conditions.
