2010-2011 Calendar Survey
The
Mansfield ISD Districtwide Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC), made
up of staff, parents, and community members, recently selected two
options as finalists for the 2010-11 MISD School Year Calendar.
Mansfield
ISD is seeking input through a survey to assist in determining which
option will be best for our staff, students, and school
community. Please take a moment to review the calendar options for next year and take the 2010-11 School Calendar Survey.
Thank
you for assisting the district with this process. The survey
will run through January 15, 2010. If you have any questions/comments,
please call 817.299.6345 or e-mail [email protected].

Mansfield newborns get a head start on reading
It takes a village to raise a child, and it apparently takes a similar effort to teach reading skills.
Mansfield
ISD, Mansfield Sunrise Rotary Club, and Methodist Mansfield Medical
Center will ring in 2010 by helping boost children's literacy right
from the start through a new Read to Me infant book program.
Newborns at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center will receive a free book that can be read to and shared with siblings. The combined effort of Mansfield ISD, Mansfield Sunrise Rotary Club, and Methodist Mansfield Medical Center was born out of the hope to raise the number of children who become capable and enthusiastic lifelong readers. Coat drive nets over 100 donations
What started early this week as a simple request from District Superintendent, Dr. Morrison to put together a staff-wide coat drive in
light of the cold weather turned into something really great for the
Council PTA Clothes Closet. The request was simple. Campuses and
departments were asked to designate an area for coat collections and
the MISD staff members were asked to bring in gently-used coats to be
given to the Clothes Closet. With record-level cold temperatures, it was
pretty easy to see the need. Thanks to the quick and thoughtful
response from campus and department staff, we were able to provide over
100 coats and jackets to the Clothes Closet. Read on... |
