Schools Screening to Stop Sex Offenders District Begins Using New Visitor Security System
Visitors at all Mansfield ISD campuses will now
have their driver's licenses scanned before going into classrooms and
lunchrooms. Beginning fall 2007, all district schools will use the RaptorWare®
system called V-Soft®, a new sign-in system that will help increase security at
their campuses. The new V-Soft® system scans a visitor's driver's license,
matches the information against sex offender databases, and then prints out a
photo identification badge.
When visitors are ready to leave, they must sign out on the system.
Administrators can use the system to pull up reports showing who is on their
campuses during the day and to track visitors.
Some sex offenders may be parents of students on a particular campus and have
parental rights to see their students. The V-Soft® system allows staff to
strictly control these parents' access to all other students. Campus staff can either
bring their child to the front office, or an employee can be sent with the
person during their visit, so that they are never unaccompanied while on our
campus.

Student Nutrition Notes
ParentOnline meal payment system
The Student Nutrition Department has launched ParentOnline, a safe and secure way for parents to make online meal payments for their children and view meal account activity.
No Price Change by Jay Towell, Director of Student Nutrition
The Student Nutrition Department is proud to announce that there will not be an increase in the breakfast and lunch prices for the 2007 -2008 school year for the 7th consecutive year.
Although, food products, non-food products and labor costs have continued to increase each and every school year, the Student Nutrition Department has not passed this cost on to you our valued customers. It is our belief that when you consider what companies that you would like to do business with, one of the areas of consideration is service and consistency. Customers will most frequently visit those business' that offer a quality product, dependability and consistent customer service. Once you have found that level of confidence, loyalty to those businesses usually follows.
The MISD Student Nutrition Department would like to thank you for your business and continued support of our Nutrition program. We are honored to have the opportunity to be of service.

Bus Routes Updated
Web Query bus routes online tool
Nearly all of the MISD bus routes changed for 2007 due to boundary changes taking effect this fall; changes and the shift of the Intermediate schools' bell times; and the addition of two new campuses.
Parents are highly encouraged to use the Web Query online system to confirm the school eligibility and if bus service is available to a specific address. New features include a
street map depicting the relationship from a users' home to the bus stop
available.
For questions, please contact the Transportation Dept. 817-299-6060.
