This will be the last newsletter until August. I hope you have found the newsletters useful and are taking advantage of all the FREE programs and events the university provides for you. We are constantly striving to bring you the best and most relevant workshops and entertainment. This fall the newsletter will look a lot different and have permanent columns to provide you with information about UALR. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful university, right here in our capital city.  The possibilities are endless.       UALR Kids Summer Events       

~2012 Young Writers Camp~

July 16-20 ~ 8 a.m. to Noon ~ ED 210 

The UALR Little Rock Writing Project invites applications for its

2012 Young Writers Camp for children who will be entering 3rd through 6th grades in the fall of 2012.  Contact Ann Beck, LRWP administrative director, at  501-944-2174 for more information.The camp fee of $125 must be received by July 1st. A limited number of scholarships are available.   

Summer Laureate University for Youth (SLUFY) 
July 9-20 ~ 12:30 to 5:30 ~ Booker Arts Magnet School 
SLUFY 2011 will offer a wide variety of fun courses in math, science, the arts, social studies, language arts and more! We offer separate course selections for students in kindergarten, grades 1-2, grades 3-4,

Summer Arts Camp 

Session I~June 18-22 and Session II August 6-10

8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  

The UALR Community School of the Arts is pleased to offer its Sixteenth Year of the Summer Arts Camp, on the UALR campus, for children ages 5-15, including those entering Kindergarten in the fall. The tuition is $165 per session per child, with a 10% discount for any additional child enrolled from the same family.

Sometimes, as a student on campus, you may be...

* feeling frustrated about having to ask where to go to get things handled,    

   what to do to get things handled, and not always finding the answers;
* feeling stressed about classes;
* feeling guilty because family responsibilities are going unmet;
* feeling all alone in the struggle to get a degree;
* constantly in a state of panic trying to keep it all together;
* struggling to find enough time to get it all done;
* wondering if it's all worth it; and/or
* needing someone to tell you that your decision to enter college was the    right one.


The NTSP staff has "been there, done that" and is available to assist you from registration through graduation. We can help with the admission and registration process, provide information and assistance about UALR's resources, and offer an ongoing system of support and encouragement.
