New Mfg. Program

Wins National Attention

The new Advanced Manufacturing Program has captured national attention. The two-certificate program, which began August 29, was the subject of an article in the August edition of League Connections, a newsletter published by the Arizona-based League for Innovation in the Community College. The program is being offered through HCC's Regional Advanced Manufacturing Center, which was created to serve students in 43 towns between the New York state line and the Connecticut River, as far north as the Middletown, Meriden, Waterbury and Danbury areas. A second program offering is set to begin Oct. 1.

President Gliniecki Joins

Entrepreneurship Forum

HCC President Anita T. Gliniecki has joined The National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship's Presidents for Entrepreneurship Forum. Through the program, presidents of community colleges throughout the country commit to increase the focus on entrepreneurship at their institutions and the impact these colleges have on the economic well-being of the communities they serve. "The support of entrepreneurship is critical to the economic growth and vitality of the college's service region and the state," said President Gliniecki. "Thus, HCC has actively promoted and supported our students' development of the necessary skills to be successful entrepreneurs."
