Greetings!

We have so much to tell you about the Hope Center and how it has been moving along in exciting ways. We've been doing a lot of brainstorming with as many people as possible as we explore our call to form an intentional community in response to the spiritual needs of our neighbors, ourselves, and others and expand our work for peace and justice in the City of Newburgh.

This week, we'll tell you about the community at the heart of our work. We'll also tell you about the dedication of Huntington Chapel. In the week's that follow, we'll tell you about other aspects of our vision and ask for your suggestions about other things we might do or how we might do what we've got in mind.

But, more than that - If you've not made it to one of our brainstorming sessions, please join us any Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the front parlor of 73 Grand Street for a great encounter with possibilities.

 Intent on Community
Community bells - isola maggioreis at the heart of the Hope Center. And, at the heart of the community are people of faith living lives committed to personal transformation and service.
We'll begin with that group, then add a mix of other folks including the working poor, persons on fixed incomes, persons in transition, pilgrims, and interns. All will live under one roof, share a common kitchen, contribute according to their means, be responsible to and for one another and tend to the community's assets.

An Act of Love
amy beatitudes
Amy Malick leads a responsive reading of the Beattitudes during the dedication ceremony. Grandson Bailey looks on.

Love must act as light must shine and fire must burn. So said Fr. James Huntington
founder of the Order of the Holy Cross, in the Rule of Life which guided him and guides the brothers who have followed. It was in honor of Fr. Huntington and the truth of his statement that the Hope Center Chapel was dedicated on Sunday, July 8th with about 30 people attending.

May your love act!
