Precision Pilates awarded Gold Medal by Mayor Brad Woodside!
Monday evening, September 26th, Cara Bérubé was awarded a Gold Medal by Mayor Brad Woodside at the City Council meeting. This medal is for the Gold level standing that Precision Pilates holds with the Fredericton Green Shops program. Just how are we green you wonder? Well, Precision Pilates rarely uses the lights, and keeps the heat set very low in the winter, and we are completely paperless. We also use organic cleaners, re-usable cloths, encourage our clients to bring re-usable drink containers, and recycle everything that comes into the studio! Our central location also allows many of you to use your own energy to get to class either by walking, running, or biking. The Fredericton Green Shops program is a great one that encourages businesses to be as green as possible. Check it out online. |

The Pilates Electric Chair
 Joseph Pilates was many things, including an inventor. The many varied Pilates Apparatus each serve a purpose in the Pilates Method. The High Chair (or Electric Chair as it is also commonly known) is no exception. Keeping in mind that all apparatus were designed to make our '6 Pilates Concepts' better, this Chair will definitely challenge your Coordination, Centering, Control, Precision, Breathing and Flow. The high chair is the largest and most stable of the chairs, providing considerable support and alignment assistance. The exercises for this chair are intended to improve strength and stability. The high back of the chair supports the spine during seated exercises and, along with the foot alignment plate, assures proper alignment for the feet and legs during standing exercises. The more advanced exercises included in the repertoire of the high chair will be a challenge for even the strongest of students.
Many of you will benefit greatly from the exercises on the electric chair, and I will gradually give most, if not all of you, an exercise or two to practice either when you arrive for class a few minutes early, or after your class ends. These exercises will help improve your Pilates matwork, but most importantly, give great benefit to your everyday activities and life.
Don't be scared of the 'electric chair', as it is only you that provides the necessary electricity!

Studio Policy Reminder
Starting October 1, 2011 Precision Pilates will be enforcing the class cancellation policy.
A reminder for everyone that it is studio policy to take a class off your package if you have not cancelled your spot in class.
Due to many classes now having wait lists, if you do not cancel your space, others can not attend class.
You can cancel via the online software, send us an email, give us a call or text our phone number. We do understand that sometimes there are circumstances beyond your control. If this is the case, let us know.
