 Youth Ministry Newsletter

To Accompany and Empower those Ministering to YouthFebruary 3, 2012

Greetings!

Jesus Christ is the Lord of compassion, love, power and of all good things. The Gospels account for his ministry before  the crificxion. He came to show us how to love in a compassionate, yet a powerful way. Such, that this type of love is capable of transforming hearts, minds, situations, and anything that lies under the sun. This week's gospel states that: " When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. The whole town was gathered at the door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases". Then the gospel goes on to say that rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.

The accounts of these events nourish our faith anywhere where there are hearts that believe. At times humans cannot see or feel the power of His love, but the power and the love are still there. God loves each person in the way that each person needs to be loved. He is alive, with us and eager to keep healing anyone who seeks Him on this earthly walk. Let us be grateful and faithful followers. By our witness we will be a bridge between heaven and earth for our youth in the simple things in life.

Passing on the Faith: A Radical Model for Youth & Family Ministrybook

This book is about passing on the faith from generation to generation, throughout the milestones of a person's life. Faith is created and nurtured by the Holy Spirit through the Gospels. The vision underlying the RADICAL model was developed in light of the theological principle that faith is formed by the Holy Spirit through personal, trusted relationships, often, but not always, in our own homes. A youth and family ministry for the 21st century connects all the generations in the total ministry of the congregation and, through the cross of Christ, recognizes the work of the Holy Spirit shaping faith in all the circles of relationships.
