Memo from the MANAGER
Christmas shopping yet?

All of a sudden, the "new year" of 2012 is halfway over. I know its kinda cliched but, wow, that was fast. Feeling somewhat philosophical upon the occasion, I was motivated to fill the following sentence with various options.
"The Fourth of July coming up next week, this
can only mean ... City Manager Gary D. Greer1. ... it's time for our annual Independence Day celebration and we certainly hope to see you at our traditional Red, White and Blue Independence Day Celebration on July 3 at the Historical Park.
2. ... we're amazed that it was still raining as recently as a week ago. However, don't be fooled, the dog days of Texas summer still lay ahead of us (remember last year?).
3. ... right this moment, someone in a back storage room at a Cracker Barrel is breaking out the Christmas decorations.
4. ... it is actually time for Independence Day in a number of places like Algeria (July 5), Argentina (July 9), the Bahamas (July 10), Colombia (July 20), Belgium (July 21), but we're only celebrating US.
5. ... it is National Ice Cream month.
Bottom line, however you choose to celebrate, have a happy and safe Fourth of July from everyone here at the City of Farmers Branch.
