How much do you "Love the Branch?"
How much do you love the Branch? Let us count the ways!
"Love the Branch" is a new branding campaign the City has undertaken in hopes of bringing new awareness to everything good about Farmers Branch - especially to the greater Metroplex. We rolled out the new "Love the Branch" campaign in November as an effort to encourage Metroplex residents and businesspeople to take a fresh look at Farmers Branch as a place for shopping, dining and living.
People love the Branch. And, we want you to help us tell the story.
As part of the campaign, we're asking residents to e-mail how they "Love the Branch" to fbinfo@farmersbranch.info. Those responses will be used in different City media formats in the coming months.
The "Love the Branch" campaign can be seen on a new website (www.lovethebranch.com), on radio station 570 KLIF, targeted behavioral online advertising and by many other communications and information channels.
Anyone can come in to a City facility to get a free "Love the Branch" sticker or call City Hall for a "Love the Branch" door cling for your business.
Help us tell the story and let us know how much you "love the Branch."

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Taking a break from a hectic holiday schedule, Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to drop by the Farmers Branch Manske Library for cookies, crafts and to spin a story or two on Wednesday, December 14 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Santa will read the Clement Clarke Moore classic, "The Night Before Christmas" while Mrs. Claus helps with holiday crafts and cookie decorating. Sources say the Grinch might even show up. Additionally, there will be photos with Santa, a bounce house and a performance by Dance Park Academy. The event is free and open to the public. A few blocks away, the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center has made special arrangements for Santa to spend time visiting with Farmers Branch kids in their homes at set appointment times through Christmas Eve. Rec Center officials said Santa will visit homes within a five-mile radius of the Community Recreation Center during the evening hours of 6:30 to 9 p.m. from now through December 24. Visits will last 15 minutes and Santa will deliver presents to kids (provided in advance by parents). Appointment times are limited so reservations are required. Cost is $25 for Recreation Center members, $29 for non-members. Call 972.247.4607 for information and appointments.

Voluntary water conservation measures go into effect January 1

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Upon the request of the Dallas Water Utilities, the City's water provider, Farmers Branch City Manager Gary Greer has announced "Voluntary Water Conservation" measures, as specified in stage 1 of the City's Drought Contingency Plan, will be initiated January 1. Stage 1 voluntary conservation calls for reductions in: > Frequency of watering new and first-year landscaping and foundations. > Frequency of washing or rinsing of vehicles and recommended use of bucket/container, handheld hose with positive shutoff valve or commercial car wash. > Excessive runoff from landscape areas. > Frequency in draining and refilling of swimming pools and ornamental fountains. > Hosing off paved areas, buildings, windows or other surfaces. All other non-essential water use. "We're relying on citizens to voluntarily continue to reduce water use when and where they can, according to these guidelines," he said. "Although January 1 will be the official implementation date, we're always asking our residents to be water smart. "Use what you need and save the rest."
