Memo from the Manager
Born to be mild
As you've no doubt noticed, all of our Branch Bulletin E-News

publications in May feature profiles of major events coming up Memorial Day weekend at Liberty Fest. Rapidly becoming one of the highlights of the event is the Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show. Both motorheads and motorists can appreciate the beauty of these very sweet rides, whether it be the raw horsepower of a 60s-era muscle car or the classic simplicity of a mint condition 1950s Chevy pickup. So, be sure to get your motor running and head out on the highway, to get to Liberty Fest for the Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, Saturday, May 28.
Also, while we're on the subject of Liberty Fest, we've only got nine days left til the big drawing for VIP packages that include backstage passes for the two concert nights at Liberty Fest, to meet the guys from 38 Special or to meet Mr. Rick Springfield. The entire VIP package includes upgraded parking, upgraded seating, $50 in food and beverage coupons, a backstage meet and greet and a signed poster from the headlining band. Two packages will be drawn, one for Friday night and 38 Special and one for Saturday night with Rick Springfield. Drawing tickets are $10 each and benefit the Farmers Branch Historical Park's General Store fundraising project. Go to www.fblibertyfest.com for more information. Better hurry, though. The winning tickets will be drawn Friday, May 20.

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Continuing to offer diverse activities for all age ranges, the Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department will open its new Inline Hockey Rink to the skating public on Tuesday, May 10.
Located at 13411 Tom Field Road, in Oran Good Park, the new rink combines the best of the Farmers Branch Skatepark and the Dr Pepper StarCenter in a space designed for hockey to be played on inline roller skates. Parks and Recreation officials emphasized that protective gear, specifically helmets, knee and elbow pads and wrist guards, is strongly recommended and that the rink is intended for hockey.
