Every Sunday, more than 100 volunteers labor faithfully in teaching and preaching the Word of God in 40 different Sunday School classes, children's churches and Teen Church. Each Sunday morning, 25 workers get up early to go out and pick up more than 200 children and adults in East County on three buses and two vans, bringing them in for Sunday School and church.

These dedicated servant leaders are on the front line of the ministry of Greater Portland Baptist Church, teaching the wonderful truths of the Word of God, bringing souls to Jesus Christ and discipling the believers in their spiritual life.

Today, we have a critical need for a few men and women who love Jesus and have a desire to serve Christ in these two life-changing ministries. Right now, we have an immediate need for a helper in a 3 yr old class in the 9:45am Sunday School. We need two teachers in the 11am session (4yr and Kindergarten classes), as well as a helper in an 11am class for 2yr children.

In the bus ministry, we need a faithful man or woman to help us as a relief driver (we can even help with training and needed licenses). There are opportunities for a married couple to help as workers on a bus, as well as 4 individuals to ride the buses as helpers with the children.

Jesus said, "But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matthew 9:36-38)

Will you help us? Will you join our team of laborers in the harvest field? You will not find sweeter fellowship than sharing in the ministry of the Gospel. To get onboard, ask any of our pastors for a volunteer application and let us know where you would like to serve.

On Saturday, February 11, you are invited to join our teachers and classroom assistants for our annual Teachers' Workshop in the gym from 9:30am-11:30am. Come catch the vision and get on the team to help us as we "Take Faith, Hope and Charity around the World" through the teaching ministry of GPBC! You will be glad you had a part!
