Christmas Program This Sunday at 6pm

When we think of a baby born in royalty, we might envision a grand palace with sweeping marble stairs, a great hall full of banners, exquisite art and guards standing at the ready. There in the soft bed we see a radiant young mother holding her precious baby while the king proudly stands nearby.
But, it was not a palace, but a stable, surrounded by the sounds and smells of a barn to which Jesus was born. Wrapped in swaddling clothes, and instead of a royal crib, he slept in a manger of hay. You see, Jesus was not born in a palace because He came to be a sacrificial lamb. Jesus was born to die, and through His sacrifice the payment for sin would be made, and an eternal kingdom of light and life would be born.
Isaiah 9:7 says this of Jesus' birth: "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end..." Yes, Jesus came to a humble beginning, but He will rule and reign all of creation for all eternity: "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:10-11).
Join us for an evening of music and praise as we start the Christmas season by remembering that the birth of Jesus Christ was only the beginning of the story!

Online Giving at www.greaterportlandbaptist.org
Over the last several years at GPBC, there are many who have asked about giving their donations, offerings, and tithes online (many of today's younger adults do not even use paper checks).
After researching the best and most secure options, we have chosen a method (with several options) that is sure to fit your specific needs. Security and privvacy are of utmost importance to all, and have been considered through each step of the decision making process. Please take the time to learn aobut this new opporutnity to give to the Lords' work in the 21st century!
While there are many who prefer to continue giving the tradiional way, this new option is certainly worthy of everyone's consideration. If you have questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to speak with one of our staff, or send us an email.
Our desire is to help every individual in their giving to the Lord. God bless you as you remain faithful to Him!
