What a Great Vacation Bible School We Had This Week!
Friday evening we closed out Vacation Bkble School with a great program.
We were challenged with the object lessons from the 8 Flags of NASCAR. Then, all the children sang the songs from VBS, we said our theme verse, and all the classes said their class verse. Then, we awarded the prizes to the kids with the most points and for the most Bible verses learned. We had a surprise visit from MAYNARD, the wannabe race car driver who kept interrupting VBS! And finally, we went to the gym for ice cream and other treats in a time of fellowship. This week, our missionary project was for the benefit of Steve Myers, missionary in South Africa. Brother Myers is beginning a new work among the Zulu tribes, and our Penny Parade offering brought in more than $1400 to help with the completion of a shelter for the Zulu Church to meet in. (This year, the children brought in more than 800 lbs of pennies! Oh, and the boys won, three days to two over the girls!) But, the greatest victory of all was the 23 precious souls that gave their life to Christ in VBS, and the three guests in the Friday program who trusted Christ. That is what VBS is all about! Thank you everyone who prayed, who worked and who gave to make Vacation Bible School a success! (By the way, you can see MAYNARD in action on our VBS Facebook Page. The link is given below. Check it out!)
