A few years ago I read the story about the great baseball player, Harmon Killebrew, who tells in his autobiography about growing up in a home with four boys. He says that on one occasion his father was out in the front yard playing baseball with the boys and a neighbor walked by and said, "Mr. Killebrew, if you keep on playing baseball out on your front lawn, you won't have any grass left in your yard." Mr. Killebrew said, "Sir, I'm not raising grass, I'm raising kids."
I love that story not only because I had to learn that lesson personally, but also because I believe that there are a lot of men like me that may have forgotten that of all the things that God demands of us as men, few are more important than being a godly father!
God commands us to honor our fathers! Exodus 20:12. This Sunday we will celebrate Father's Day and honor every father in the services at GPBC.
We have a special gift for every Dad that attends this Sunday! Please invite your Dad to be with you if he is able. If not please invite any father that you can and make this Sunday a day that he will remember in eternity!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
God bless!
