Critics are Raving Over Tartuffe! Don't Miss this Show!

See what the critics had to say and then come see for yourself what all the buzz is about...

Tartuffe plays through June 19 outdoors at The Green Uptown.

Unanimous praise for our production of Tartuffe:

"A sharp and witty production that makes for a rollicking evening on The Green... the modern and sprightly translation, combined with Wilkinson's brisk and playful direction, bring the show to joyous new life... excellently cast."

- The Charlotte Observer (read the full review)

"Results are the better than ever at The Green... They suggest a five-dollar donation after the show ends, but tickets to this production would be a steal at five times that price."

- Creative Loafing (read the full review

"First rate"... "the classics presented by this excellent Festival entertain and enlighten at the same time, and show what the best of theatre can be."

Tartuffe montageJoin in the fun and see how far one family will go to save their home and their honor from one of literature's greatest con men - Tartuffe. The Charlotte Shakespeare Festival is pleased to expand its programming to include more classical playwrights as we present the comedy Tartuffe, by Jean-Baptiste Moliere.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic and enjoy live theatre under the stars. Performances take place through June 19. Wednesday - Saturday evenings at 8pm, Sundays at 6:30pm. The Green is located in Uptown Charlotte across from the convention center. Plenty of parking is available.

There is no admission charge, but a minimum $5 per person donation is greatly appreciated. Seating is first-come, first-served. Seating area opens 90 minutes before the performance. Click here for directions.
