Moliere's Tartuffe June 2-19 at The Green

How far will one family go to save their home and their honor from one of literature's greatest con men? Join us outdoors on The Green in June to find out.

Tartuffe was written in the 17th century by French playwright Jean-Baptiste Moliere and translated into English in a hilarious rhyming edition by Ranjit Bolt. With this production, we are pleased to be able to expand our programming to include other great classical playwrights in addition to Shakespeare.

Performances take place Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm and Sundays at 6:30pm. Don't miss Festivities, our pre-show entertainment series, which begins 45 minutes prior to the show.

As with prior years, there is no admission charge for The Charlotte Shakespeare Festival, but we do request and appreciate a minimum $5 donation per person to help fund production costs.

Watch your email in the coming days for more information about Tartuffe!

Volunteers Needed

The Charlotte Shakespeare Festival is looking for some volunteers who can give a few hours of their time to support the festival. Our primary needs for Tartuffe are for ushers and concessions staff. For each position, you will arrive one hour prior to the show and assist us either with audience seating or selling concessions. We'll need your help again during intermission, but you are free to watch the entire show. In addition to helping us make this year's festival a success, you get to stake out a great seat for the show and we'll provide free parking!

If you are interested in volunteering during Tartuffe, please send your name, email address, phone number and the date(s) that you are available to help to [email protected].
