Check out the Charming Connection website and see how Lake Mills is participating by hosting the final weekend of a year-long Southeastern Wisconsin Main Street Community event!

Lake Mills Makes National Ad Campaign!

Our own Crystal Farms is showing the Lake Mills love by mentioning our town by name in their ad campaigns. No longer identifying themselves as located in "the heartland," we will see "Lake Mills, WI" on billboards, magazine ad spreads and other advertising venues throughout the country. Lake Mills may no longer be Wisconsin's best kept secret!

12 Days of Classic Christmas

While it's waaay too early to start the Christmas countdown, we thought you'd like to know that the annual Classic Christmas weekend has been extended a bit - to the 12 Days of Classic Christmas. From the first weekend of December THROUGH the second weekend, look for workshops, cookie walks, craft shows, wagon rides, caroling, retail events, and maybe even reindeer!

The annual Tree Lighting ceremony will move from the day after Thanksgiving to the first Friday of December.

And most exciting of all? The Lake Mills Tour of Homes is back! This beloved annual event will now be sponsored by the Rock Lake Activity Center, and we can't wait to see those beautiful homes again!

175 YEARS

Mark your calendar for Labor Day Weekend - September 2-5, 2011. That's when we'll kick off a year-long celebration of 175 years for Lake Mills! That's a LOT of candles...

Want to get involved? We are currently meeting once a month at City Hall. We'd love to have you join us in the planning of this event!

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, 3/30/11 at 5:30pm at City Hall - please join us!

CV Hair Company

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. $20 for registrations received by April 1. $25 after April 1. Registration forms can be found at CV Hair Company.

Rock Lake Activity Center

Besides offering great classes, the Rock Lake Activity Center (RLAC) invites the community for lunch on the last Wednesday of each month. Warm soup and bread are provided by Water House Foods, starting at noon. This community gathering is open to all - bring a friend! And it's FREE!

RLAC is taking applications for 2011 summer garden plots. Plots will be cleaned and tilled and ready to plant in May. Purchase a garden plot for $30. Plant vegetables, flowers, herbs - whatever you desire. A great family project. All plots will be staked and fenced by the end of May.

  Planters and Banners

Please keep our downtown beautiful with a contribution to our planter and street banner fund!
Planters
This year, we are in need of funding to replace perennials and add colorful annuals to the planters that grace the sidewalks in our retail district, as well as cover weekly watering costs.

We are also working on purchasing colorful banners to hangBanner down Main Street from Walgreens to downtown. We hope these banners will show visitors that there is more to Lake Mills than one popular intersection - it's worth the drive down beautiful residential Main Street to our historic shopping district. (Note - the picture at right is an illustration of a banner, but not the design we will be using.)

If you would like to help out by donating to either of these efforts, please contact Jill Nadeau at 920-648-2344 or mail a check to the Lake Mills Main Street Program, 200 Water Street, Lake Mills, WI. Thank you!
