Careers in information systems and technology remain among the hottest out there. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic's Occupational Outlook Handbook projects a 30 percent growth in demand for computer software engineers; 53 percent increase in jobs for network systems and data communications analysts; a 23 percent uptick in network and computer systems administrator positions; and a 17 percent jump in positions for computer and information systems managers.

This year, 54 iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology seniors will join this continually growing job market.

Drexel graduates have 6 to 18 months of workplace experience on their resume from the Cooperative Education Program, which provides hands-on expertise and a competitive salary. As analysts, program managers and project leaders, iSchool students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, gaining interpersonal and business skills. iSchool graduates hold positions at such corporations as Microsoft, Google, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, and many more.

The iSchool will also confer doctoral degrees to seven students and master's degrees to 259 students. The College is hosting a special dessert reception immediately after commencement, and graduates and their families and friends are encouraged to join faculty, staff, and fellow students in the Rush Garden to participate in the celebration.

If you will be attending the reception, R.S.V.P. to www.ischool.drexel.edu/graduation with the number of guests.

Congratulations to all iSchool graduates!

2011 iSchool Senior Design Challenge
iSchool Senior Design Winners
Innovation, creativity, a lot of hard work, and a touch of competitive spirit can bring iSchool students to one day -- the iSchool Senior Design Challenge.

The iSchool Senior Design Challenge is an annual competition for outstanding iSchool senior project development groups, which showcases the integration and application of their undergraduate degree program into the final capstone sequence. Most IT and SE projects are team efforts, and so development of skills needed to work successfully on a team is essential for iSchool students. This year's Senior Design Challenge was held Sunday, June 5.
