'Helping Hands'

Sweet Heart  

Food Drive!

 

Please bring in a donation benefiting the Connecticut Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. Most needed items include canned soups, pasta, jars of spaghetti, tuna, peanut butter, 2lb bags of white or brown rice, and cans of mixed vegetables.  

 

'Helping Hands' will also be volunteering at the Food Bank on Thursday, February 17th from   3:00 - 5:00 pm while dropping off all of our donated items.  

We appreciate all of your support!

Happy early Valentine's Day! We hope everyone has shoveled their way out of the snow!  Thank goodness February is finally here!

Our juniors and seniors had an amazing time sailing the Caribbean!  Pictures will be available shortly on our website!

Thank you to everyone who donated candy and V-Day treats to the WPPA Candy Sale today!  We will continue to sell these items on Monday for $1-$2 with proceeds supporting student activities!

Thank you again for our weekly faculty fruit basket! We are enjoying our Tuesday healthy eats, especially those delicious apples! Thank you, thank you!

The WPPA will be holding a Gala meeting next Thursday, February 17th at 3:00 pm in Cat Hall.  We are looking for volunteers and support for our annual Gala and welcome all parents to attend. Download the Gala flyer to the left to learn how you can help.  Email Sue Colon if you have any questions.

We are excited to have environmental educator, Ali Beatty (New Canaan Nature Center) visit with students on Thursday, February 17th @ 11:00 am. Ali's career presentation will also include a visit with a rescued animal from NCNC! Students will not want to miss it!

Progress reports and grades will be arriving shortly in the mail.

Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training

 

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC) and the Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities will sponsor a conference for parents and education professionals entitled:

 

Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training

 

The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at

Come hear Pete Wright talk about:

 

·    special education law, rights and responsibilities

 

·      tests and measures to measure progress and regression

 

·      strategies for effective advocacy
